Haywood County Tourism Development Authority Announces New Marketing Committee Members

HAYWOOD COUNTY, NC — The Haywood County Tourism Development Authority (HCTDA), which operates as Visit NC Smokies, is pleased to announce the appointment of new members for its Marketing Committee. This diverse group of individuals will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the tourism marketing strategies for the county.

The newly appointed Marketing Committee members represent each of the five zip codes within Haywood County, as well as one county-wide seat. The HCTDA received an overwhelming response during the open application process, and after careful consideration, these individuals have been selected to join the committee.

The new Marketing Committee members are:

  • Scott Clontz, Marketing & Communications Manager for Haywood Regional Medical Center, representing Haywood County
  • Michelle Harris, Director of Engagement, Marketing & PIO at Haywood Community College, representing Clyde
  • Scott Nielsen, Owner of Cabbage Rose, representing Maggie Valley
  • Chris Pruett, Owner of People Creative Agency, representing Canton
  • Teresa Tate, Director of Marketing & Communications at Lake Junaluska, representing Lake Junaluska
  • Mitch Bearden, Manager of Marketing & Economic Development at Haywood EMC, representing Waynesville

“We are thrilled to welcome Scott Clontz, Michelle Harris, Scott Nielsen, Chris Pruett, Teresa Tate, and Mitch Bearden to our Marketing Committee,” said Corrina Ruffieux, Executive Director of the HCTDA. “Their expertise and passion for our county will be invaluable in promoting Haywood County as a tourism destination.”

Tammy Wight, Chair of the Marketing Committee, expressed enthusiasm about the new members, stating, “This dynamic group brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspectives to the table. I am confident that their collective efforts will help us create effective marketing campaigns that showcase the natural beauty and unique experiences Haywood County has to offer.”

The new Marketing Committee members will work closely with the three existing TDA board members and staff to develop strategic marketing plans, execute promotional campaigns, and enhance the county’s overall visibility.
